Pilot Viruet
Pilot is a screenwriter, critic, essayist, and Communications Manager living in Queens, New York. Previously, they were Television Editor at Flavorwire and Culture Editor at VICE. Pilot’s work has appeared in The New York Times, BuzzFeed, The Atlantic, Vulture, Vox, and more.
Pilot’s screenwriting, which centers queer and trans youth, awarded them a spot in two competitive fellowships: Sesame Street Writers’ Room Workshop and WGAE’s Made In New York Writers Room. Pilot’s credits include Sesame Street (for which they were nominated for an Emmy), Pinecone & Pony, and more. Pilot also co-founded The Rolling Library, a mutual aid group that provides free books and little free libraries to book deserts in NYC.
